Stumbling on Happiness, by D. Gilbert

Book of the Week 10

Stumbling on happiness is a pleasant, readable and witty account of a multitude of studies and experiments. Operating with a broad definition of the term happiness, the book is not an academic take on the subject and far from a “self help” one.  The reader can spot several studies used in other books but not always with the same insights and conclusions. I particularly liked the thoughts on temporal diversification. “ Lucian Isar

Aaron Copland: “Inspiration may be a form of superconsciousness, or perhaps of subconsciousness – I wouldn’t know. But I am sure it is the antithesis of self- consciousness.”

Witty, indeed. Ariely ne place. Dar ce ma surprinde e ca n-am gasit nimic p-aici de Taleb… Nu pot sa cred ca nu va place 🙂

Prima lui carte da, “Dynamic Hedging”. Dupa, am intalnit conceptele in prea multe locuri. Sunt carti de popularizare care merita insa citite.
