More Than You Know: Finding Financial Wisdom in Unconventional Places by M.J. Mauboussin
Book of the Week 3
“The story of the 6 blind wise men and the elephant is present in several cultures. It suggests that faced with the task of understanding a complex element one needs to be humble about the process of discovery and to factor in different perspectives. This philosophical insight is the one linking the multitude of diverse chapters of the book. The chapters can be read also on a stand-alone basis and are in the same nice style as the papers “ Mauboussin on Strategy”.
The topics are well structured and backed by a large bibliography. Even if in certain cases the treatment is not up to date it is a very good starting point. The ideas put forth are gathered from a wide range of disciplines such as complexity science, biology, decision sciences, psychology, etc.
It is a must read for investment professionals but it can also be a good pass time even for those that are looking just to expand the range of conversation topics.” Lucian Isar
